Help us Move! March Volunteer Opportunities

As a non-profit community bike shop, Falls City relies on volunteers from our local community. The shop needs your help relocating; it’s a daunting task, and we’ll need all hands on deck.

The shop is closed for the month of March. Instead of offering our usual Open Shop services, we will be having volunteer moving days.

Every Wednesday evening at 6:30 and every Sunday afternoon at 1:00, we will gather for volunteer work days. We could use your help packing, moving, organizing and otherwise setting up at our new place.

On Sundays we’ll meet at the old shop, and Wednesdays we’ll meet at the new location. This is subject to change as needed.

If you have any special skills, like carpentry, bike part knowledge, or anything else that might be handy, please let us know. You can contact us via email or social media.

Here’s our exact Volunteer Day schedule for March.

  • Sunday March 1, 1:00 p.m. to 4:00 p.m.  (Meet at old shop, 1217 Logan St.)
  • Wednesday March 4, 6:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. (Meet at new shop, 716 Logan St.)

FCCB is Moving!

Falls City Community Bikeworks is moving! After 11 years of operation FCCB will be moving to a new location right down the street. The new space allows us to elevate our services and offer more resources to Louisville’s cyclists, increasing access to affordable, equitable transportation options.
Falls City will be closed for the month of March while the move happens. Keep your eyes open here on our website or social media for an announcement regarding a Grand Re-opening in April.
Our new location will be at 716 Logan Steet, near the intersection of Logan and Broadway. We’ll see you there!

Winter Hours 2026

We will be keeping reduced winter hours during January and February. We’re hosting Open Shop every Sunday from 1:00 to 4:00 pm. For the time being, there won’t be Open Shop on Wednesdays. This Spring we will get back to our twice a week schedule!! We hope you can make it in the winter and take advantage of our services on a Sunday.

Holiday Closings

This holiday season, Falls City Community Bikeworks will be closed for a couple days. We will not have Open Shop on following dates in December:

Wednesday, December 24th (Christmas Eve)

Wednesday, December 31st (New Year’s Eve)

We hope everyone stays warm and has a great holiday season!

Wheel Truing Workshop

Due to popular demand, our next workshop is “How to True a Wheel”! It will be this Saturday, September 6th, at 1:00.

We’ve gotten several requests for this workshop AND it won out in an Instagram poll.

In this workshop, you will learn the process to get a wheel rolling completely straight. We will teach you the concepts behind spoke tension and rim rotation. You’ll learn the entire process of adjusting spokes and getting a wheel true.

This is a free event for the public, but a suggested donation of $15 is appreciated.

FCCB Website Calendar

We’ve added a Calendar of Events to our website! If you click on the “Calendar” tab above, you will find a monthly calendar that shows you all the FCCB events coming up. It includes Open Shop hours, upcoming workshops, and events out in the greater community we might be present at.

One notable thing you will see on the calendar is the monthly meeting of our Board of Directors. Our board meetings are open to the public, so that you can come see the decision-making process for this organization or meet the board members. Keep an eye on the listed location for board meetings, they aren’t usually at the shop!
